Fun anecdote: When I worked at Chrysler, I was lucky enough to launch (all three cars, one after another, kill me) from their Brampton plant, so I never had the pleasure of working with Warren Truck, Toluca, or Saltillo. However, my buddies in trucks and powertrain were adamant that build quality was much better at the Mexican plants, even though it was occasionally harder to get people to follow certain processes.

Nothing new here. I own two cars that use dual plugs. Makes plug changes more expensive and tedious.

Yea all new hemis have two plugs per hole. When they first came out it was a wiring mess. Then they fixed it and used the same coil to fire both plugs. Its called a waste spark system. Cleaner emissions, basically it fires the second plug on the exhaust stroke to burn any remaining raw fuel. So Ive read.

Original and early Hemi's (1950-60's) only used one plug per cylinder. It was positioned in the center of the hemispherical cylinder head.

Since the launch of the modern 'Hemi' in 2003, the 5.7L Eagle, 6.4L Apache, and 6.2L Hellcat engines all have dual spark configuration. It helps with ignition and flame propagation and emissions (wasted spark).
It is a royal PITA to change all of them.

Having spent quite a bit of time in Mexico, I can attest to the fact that almost everyone there is an engineer. Some of the shit you see people pull off down there is amazing.

My Ford Escort had a hemispherical engine and only used 1 plug per cylinder.
